Moving From “Surviving to Thriving”: Trauma Attuned Transformation Using the Nurtured Heart Approach©

This session is delivered by Howard Glasser, author and international trainer and creator of the Nurtured Heart Approach©, and Frank Picone, LCSW who helped design and implement a 12-million-dollar four-year grant that is transforming New Jersey’s child serving systems to being Trauma Attuned and Nurtured Heart Approach trained. The first part of the training will describe what the Nurtured Heart Approach is and how it pertains to parents and educators as well as the power of being “Trauma Attuned” in our schools. The remaining time will be spent on audience questions/discussion to clarify these approaches; in particular how the Nurtured Heart Approach can help create and maintain an optimum culture for youth with trauma to move from “Surviving to Thriving”—how this approach serves the cause of transforming how children of trauma can discover who they really are as great young people with great things to contribute.
