Conference attendees will have the opportunity to view an exclusive screening of the film Screenagers and take part in a discussion with the film’s co-producer, Lisa Tabb.
Screenagers: Growing up in the Digital Age is a one-hour documentary that looks at the impact of excessive screen time on kids and explores ways to help them find balance, including the benefits of after-school programs. Stories involve families from low and high socioeconomic levels, as well as from multiple ethnicities, and highlights the fact that low-income kids disproportionately engage in excessive screen use. The film is great for families with children ages 10 and older and comes with subtitles in Spanish, Mandarin, French, Korean, and English.
With mounting evidence of the negative correlation between screen time and brain development, you won’t want to miss this important discussion of an issue that impacts communities everywhere.
