Banquet Celebration

The Banquet Celebration is always a high point at conference. This year we have keynote speaker, Brad Meltzer. His address will be sure to inspire and entertain as he shares his own journey in becoming a life-long learner and educator. In addition to his fiction, Brad is one of the only authors to ever have books on the bestseller list for Non-Fiction (History Decoded), Children’s Books (I Am Amelia Earhart and I Am Abraham Lincoln) and even comic books (Justice League of America), for which he won the prestigious Eisner Award. He is also the host of Brad Meltzer’s Lost History on H2 and Brad Meltzer’s Decoded on the History Channel. After the banquet, be sure and purchase a copy of his most recent best-selling book Escape Artist, and have it signed. The student speaker, Rocio Del Toro, will share her compelling story of the power of family literacy. Moving to the U.S. without a high school diploma, she worked hard to earn her GED® and her associate’s degree. She now works in early childhood education at Plano Family Literacy School.

Following the Banquet Celebration will be a book signing of Brad Meltzer’s Escape Artist in the Grand Ballroom Foyer. Books will be available for purchase onsite.

Purchased Banquet Celebration tickets are to be picked up from the conference registration desk during conference hours and no later than Tuesday, September 25 at 6:00PM.
