Access in Adult Education through Translanguaging
November 18, 2024
10:30 a.m. to 11:45 a.m.
Translanguaging is “the act performed by bilinguals of accessing different linguistic features or various modes of what are described as autonomous languages, in order to maximize communicative potential” (García, 2009). Although translanguaging has become more common in Pk-12 classrooms, it has still been slow to make its way into adult education learning spaces. This session will explore the role of translanguaging and translingualism in adult education classrooms.
