Evidence to Action: Empowering Parents as Active Collaborators for School and Student Success
The University of Chicago Consortium on School Research is a research-practice partnership that has provided crucial insights and created common understandings, metrics, and frameworks for district leaders, educators, civic leaders, policymakers, and other professionals across the field of education since 1990—locally in Chicago and nationally. In 2022, the Consortium dedicated staff and resources to elevate family engagement and integrate it into the organization’s strategic plans. This includes our “Evidence to Action” initiative to equip parent leaders with knowledge and skills that help them actively collaborate with other parents and school leadership to build schools where all students learn, grow, and thrive. Come hear about our vision, process, and work to date, and consider connections to your own family engagement work.
