AI, Education, and the Workforce: What Educators and Families Need to Know
Artificial intelligence is no longer a future trend. It’s already shaping how we live, learn, and work. From the search engines we use to the tools that streamline daily tasks, AI is here, and education and the workforce cannot afford to ignore its impact. As of July 2025, more than half of U.S. states, along with the District of Columbia, have issued guidance on AI in schools prioritizing literacy, ethics, privacy, and workforce readiness. But the real question is: how do we make sure children and families are not left behind in this new era?
This mainstage panel will ground the audience in a basic understanding of AI, highlighting how we’ve all been interacting with it for years. Panelists will share perspectives across industries, pointing to ways AI can serve as a tool that lifts people up while emphasizing the need for human guidance, critical thinking, and strong guardrails. Together, we’ll examine what’s required to prepare communities: from teaching digital literacy and responsible use, to ensuring access and opportunity, to building skills that align with the jobs of tomorrow.
Join us for a candid conversation on how educators, practitioners, funders, and policymakers can help shape an AI-informed future that provides access and opportunity to families rather than excludes them.
