Unboxed: Reimagining Family Engagement as a Co-Designed Experience
What if families weren’t seen as guests in the school system but as co-creators of it?
In this highly interactive session, we go beyond the buzzwords and explore a relationship-centered model that positions families as essential drivers of student belonging, engagement, and success. Drawing from rigorous research in relational trust, developmental science, and culturally responsive engagement, you will learn how to redesign your approach to family partnerships by focusing on what matters most: the quality of the relationship, rather than the quantity of involvement.
Participants will explore:
- Why relationships are the foundation for youth thriving, trust-building, and equitable systems
- How to shift from transactional outreach to transformative partnership, especially with families often excluded by school systems
This session is designed for educators, school leaders, and community partners who are ready to move beyond checklists and toward co-creating a culture of belonging, where relationships are not an “add-on,” but the strategy.
