Dr. Celia Rosemberg

Principal Researcher
National Research Council (CONICET)

Celia Rosemberg is a Principal Researcher at Argentina’s National Research Council (CONICET) and a Professor at the University of Buenos Aires, where she earned her Ph.D. in Philosophy and Literature. She directs research at CIIPME (Centro Interdisciplinario de Investigaciones en Psicología Matemática y Experimental) and leads ISoLCI (Social Interaction, Language and Cognition in Infancy and Childhood), an interdisciplinary group studying language and literacy development among children in monolingual marginalized urban settings and bilingual Indigenous communities.

Her work combines research on language acquisition with educational interventions to promote inclusive, high-quality education. Drawing on extensive longitudinal recordings of children’s daily interactions, her projects bridge language documentation, psycholinguistics, and education, informing theory and the development of ecologically valid assessment tools. She has also created materials and programs to expand children’s opportunities for vocabulary, discourse, and literacy learning in family, community, and early education settings.

Celia serves on the Editorial Boards of First Language, Monographs of the Society for Research in Child Development and as a Consulting Editor for the Journal of Cognition and Development.
