Dr. Laura McCorkle is an Associate Professor in the Department of Special Education and Child Development at the University of North Carolina at Charlotte. She obtained her Ph.D. in Special Education with an emphasis in Early Childhood from the University of Georgia. Prior to this position, she worked at Vanderbilt University’s Center for Child Development as a service coordinator and Kennedy Center as a communication coach/education consultant; additionally, she provided special instruction/service coordination at the University of Tennessee-Martin. Her research interests include personnel preparation, using technology to support pre-service candidates, and early childhood special education/early intervention.
