Book Harvest

Rachel Stine is a literacy systems-builder and the chief architect of Books on Break, Book Harvest’s flagship summer learning program. Since 2015, she has led the expansion of the model across North Carolina and beyond, forging sustainable school and community partnerships to ensure students have access to free, high-interest books during the summer months. With a background in teaching, education program management, and social work, Rachel brings deep insight into child development and community-based interventions. Her leadership has placed books not only in schools, but in everyday spaces like barbershops, parks, and laundromats. She serves on the national working group for the Campaign for Grade-Level Reading.
