Julia Levy is the executive director of Sparkler Learning, an organization focused on engaging and supporting families with young children. Julia has worked for 20 years at the crossroads of education, policy, and technology. She previously founded an arts/culture/technology startup, and has consulted for education and policy organizations, including the Walton Family Foundation, Bloomberg Philanthropies, NBC’s Education Nation, Families for Excellent Schools, Urban Assembly, and more. She served as Director of Communications for the New York City Department of Education and as project director of the Council on Foreign Relations Task Force on U.S. Education Reform and National Security. Julia started her career as a reporter, covering education, policy, and economic development for The New York Sun, the Financial Times, and Hearst Newspapers. She also wrote and illustrated an anti-bullying children’s book, Donny the Bully. Julia holds an MBA from Columbia Business School (2011) and an AB from Dartmouth College (2002).
