Maggie O. Hanna is an Assistant Professor in Teacher Education at the College of Education at Eastern Michigan University. She is a former bilingual elementary school teacher and an instructor of elementary teacher education as well as a collaborator in school-university partnerships and urban community-focused literacy initiatives. As a professor and researcher, her work highlights school-home-community engagement and the importance of understanding historical and contemporary systemic inequality as it pertains to the educational opportunities and barriers for children and their families.
