Rebecca Stanley, Ph.D.

Rebecca Stanley is an educational consultant with expertise in STEM education, instructional design, and adult learning. Before joining RTI, Dr. Stanley held roles coaching new teachers, designing professional development for STEM schools, and teaching science at multiple levels. She also has experience in curriculum development and work-based learning. She has worked with teachers across the nation to implement high-quality inquiry-based and STEM learning for all students. At RTI, she has led the development of a suite of supports related to STEM for schools, districts, states, nonprofit organizations, and the federal government. These supports include the design of targeted STEM content, the implementation of schoolwide STEM practices, the development of partnerships in STEM, and strategic planning centered on STEM as a model for school improvement.

For the last four years, Dr. Stanley has served as the chair of the Defense STEM Education Consortium, a $190-million investment in STEM by the Department of Defense. As consortium chair, she provides leadership, sets a vision, and manages the overall consortium as its members work to broaden STEM literacy and inspire the next generation of scientists and engineers to become the STEM workforce of the future.
