Your Conference, Your City: Must-See San Antonio Experiences in November

You’ve done the hard part: registered, booked your flight, and blocked the calendar. Now here’s the fun part: figuring out what to actually do while you’re there.

November is one of the best times to visit San Antonio. Some of the city’s most iconic experiences are right outside your hotel door. The Marriott Rivercenter sits at the heart of it all. Within a 20-minute walk you can cover centuries of history, culture, and flavor. 

Here are a few suggestions on how to spend your conference downtime:

San Antonio River Walk 

Step out the door and you’re already on it. The Paseo del Río winds for 15 miles along the water. Filled with restaurants, bars, shops, it’s the kind of place where a quick 20-minute stroll can easily turn into two hours. 

The Alamo 

A five-minute walk from the River Walk and completely free to enter, the Alamo is one of those rare historic sites that genuinely earns its reputation. The 1836 battle fought here became a defining moment in Texas history. And standing in front of the actual facade, that history feels surprisingly close.

La Villita Historic Arts Village 

Tucked just off the River Walk, La Villita is a National Historic Landmark and one of San Antonio’s oldest neighbourhoods. Today it’s a thriving arts community of artisan studios, galleries, and boutiques set within beautifully preserved 18th and 19th century buildings. It’s the kind of place that rewards a slow wander. 

Historic Market Square 

A 20-minute walk brings you to Market Square, the largest Mexican market in the United States. With more than 100 shops and restaurants spread across three blocks, it’s a sensory experience: handcrafted goods, local art, freshly made food, and an energy that’s hard to describe until you’re standing in the middle of it. 

However many times you’ve been before, San Antonio has a way of surprising you. November is a great time to let it.
