Families suffer when medical interpretation falls short in the doctor’s office. Accessing health care is difficult for anyone but for English language learners it is overwhelming. This session will walk participants through the process of implementing a health literacy class within the medical setting. Participants will discuss barriers families face when advocating for care and the urgency to engage with the medical community. From grant procurement to recruitment, participants will be empowered to bring this literacy initiative back to their community.
