Our research finds that most adults who could benefit from literacy programs don’t know that free, local help exists. Once they do, the overwhelming majority want to participate, and the people most ready to walk through the door are often parents raising children under 18. This session describes how the Adult Literacy and Learning Impact Network (ALL IN), the collaborative effort of seven national organizations, built the evidence base behind that finding and turned it into action. We’ll share what the data reveals about where adult and family learners get stuck, then go inside two live projects opening doors: one reimagining public libraries as adult and family literacy centers, and one redesigning how the most foundational learners find and enter programs. Participants will leave with new resources and insights to leverage in their own initiatives.
