AI in Action: Balancing Innovation, Responsibility, and Human Judgment
This featured workshop will be led by Tasha Austin, a principal in Deloitte’s Government and Public Services practice who helps lead the firm’s AI and data analytics work. Drawing on nearly 20 years of experience helping leaders navigate complex data, technology, and organizational challenges, Tasha will introduce foundational AI concepts and explore responsible AI principles related to privacy, accountability, transparency, and bias. A central theme will be ensuring that AI strengthens, rather than replaces, the human relationships, professional expertise, empathy, and judgment at the heart of education and family support. Through interactive scenarios grounded in education and workforce settings, participants will consider how AI can reduce administrative burdens, expand access to information, and support stronger decisions, while identifying the responsibilities that must remain human-focused. The session will also explore how critical thinking and storytelling can help participants recognize misinformation and create and defend credible, accurate narratives.
