Amy Olson

Amy Olson is the Youth Services Consultant for the Kentucky Department for Libraries and Archives. Amy earned her Master of Library and Information Science (LIS) from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign through the LEEP program. Following her graduation, Amy began her career as a children and teen librarian at a bilingual English/Spanish public library. Her career then expanded into public and private schools, where she worked as a consultant – integrating art, music, storytelling, and drama into literacy-based programming. Amy has served as an adjunct professor for the University of Kentucky’s School of Library Science, teaching world literature and children’s literature. Amy has also been involved in several research studies focusing on youth literacy and public library services. Amy is married to an Argentine, and they have two daughters of whom they are extremely proud.
