Jodi-Renee (JR) Girón is a seasoned community organizer and policy advocate with over 25 years of experience driving impactful change at both local and state levels. Her journey into advocacy began when she was approached by city leaders to address gang involvement in her neighborhood. Trained as a chaplain, JR has dedicated her career to ensuring marginalized voices are heard in decision-making spaces. She has worked extensively in gang diversion, reducing prisoner recidivism, aiding immigrant/migrant families, and addressing early childhood and maternal health. Known for her ability to unlock community potential and mobilize grassroots efforts, JR is a sought-after expert in grassroots advocacy and strategic policy influence. She has achieved significant victories in policy advocacy across diverse political landscapes. As the leader of Nebraska’s premier advocacy training cohort, JR’s mission is to equip and support families and communities with the skills and knowledge needed to influence policy and create lasting change.
