Leesa Hoyt Kraeger is a rural Nebraska resident with more than 35 years of experience in family literacy, education, and community engagement. She serves as a Senior Content Specialist for Family Literacy at the National Center for Families Learning (NCFL) in Louisville, Kentucky. In this role, she leverages her extensive expertise to develop resources, support practitioners, and advance family literacy initiatives that strengthen learning outcomes for children and families.

Before joining NCFL, Leesa spent 13 years working in an NCFL-seeded four-component family literacy program in Lincoln, Nebraska. Throughout her tenure, she served in multiple leadership and instructional roles, including site coordinator, adult educator, Parent Time educator, and PACT Time facilitator. Her work centered on supporting ethnically diverse immigrant and refugee families as they developed English language skills, navigated educational systems, and built meaningful connections within the community.

Leesa is passionate about empowering families as their children’s first and most important teachers. Her career has been dedicated to creating opportunities for lifelong learning, fostering educational equity, and strengthening family engagement to support academic and personal success.
