Max Altman is the Director of Research and Policy at the Southern Education Foundation, where he oversees SEF’s research agenda and manages a number of its justice-focused partnerships and networks. He previously served as the technical assistance lead for the Pacific Regional Educational Laboratory at McREL International in Honolulu, where he designed and facilitated ongoing support projects to meet the needs of educators in Pacific jurisdictions. A former high school math teacher, Max has also served as a professional developer and curriculum writer, as well as an instructor in teacher education and mathematics courses at the University of Michigan.
