Yolanda is a seasoned social services professional and community impact strategist with over 20 years of experience across nonprofit, muncipal, state, and federal systems. Yolanda’s work is rooted in advancing equity, strengthening families, and building sustainable pathways to economic mobility for underserved communities.
Yolanda currently serves in a leadership role within local government, where she designs and implements comprehensive social service initiatives that address housing stability, financial capabilities, workforce development, and crisis intervention. She specializes in developing structured, results-driven programs that move individuals and families from immediates need to long-term self-sufficiency.
Her professional background reflects both practical leadership and national-level engagement. Yolanda was invited to Washington D.C. to collaborate with the African American Mayors Association of the EMLI cohort and have been invited to share insights at the White House during special events focused on economic mobility in underserved communities. She has also served as a panelist for the 42nd NALEO conference contributing to discussions on building stronger communities through homeownership.
Yolanda is the designer of the Empowered by Getting Ahead (EBGA) framework implemented within the City of East Point in Fulton County GA, which focuses on economic mobility, accountability, and long-term family stability. Her approach integrates evidence-based frameworks such as Trauma-Informed Care and Bridges Out of Poverty into real-world application.
Yolanda’s academics and professional credentials include PhD coursework in Philosophy of Leadership, a Master of Divinity In Chrisitian Education from Tennessee Temple University, and a Community Health Worker certification from Morehouse School of Medicine. She is a graduate of the Leadership Insitute Candidate Development workshop and the Citizen Police Academy for the City of East Point.
Additionally, she serves as a Crisis Intervention Team (CIT) Coordinator, Mental Health First Aider, and Certified Bridges Out of Poverty Trainer. She actively engages in civic and political organizations that support community advancement and leadership development.
In addition to her government role, she is the Founder and CEO of Family Matters Partnership INC, where she supports organizations and municipalities in program development, strategic planning, and community engagement. Her work has contributed to significant increases in funding portfolios, expanded access to services, and the development of innovative models that prioritizes both accountability and empowerment.
Yolanda is passionate about helping communities shift from reactive delivery to proactive, sustainable systems that create real, measureable change for familes.
