Candy Magaña, MPA, Director of Health Equity Advancement, Innovation and Training at Humana, will be headlining our Opening Session on Tuesday, Oct. 25. A nationally respected practice facilitator, master trainer, and public health professional, Ms. Magaña will explore the intersection between health equity and education. Taking the digital mainstage on Wednesday, Oct. 26, is Sharlonda Buckman-Davis, author of “The Ardent Advocate” and Assistant Superintendent of Family and Community Engagement for Detroit Public Schools. An expert consultant for national and local organizations on family engagement and youth development, Mrs. Buckman has discussed her parent engagement work both in local and national media, having been a featured panelist and regular guest during MSNBC’s “Making the Grade” series of televised town hall meetings as well as the cable network’s “Education Nation” broadcast series.
